About us

Karen Williams – Director and Founder

Techno Ninjas launched in 2014 after running a successful Raspberry Pi Club at the local FE college. Karen realised quickly that the novelty of using the Pi soon wore off, but the coding was what the children really enjoyed.

Karen has worked in education since 2001 (across the full range of ages from working in a post grad University, right through to Primary/Nursery schools). She now works in a school specialising in education for autistic secondary students in Oxford. A self-confessed geek, she loves technology, new gadgets and working with computers. Much as they can be frustrating and annoying at times, Karen gets a kick out of trouble shooting and getting a bit of code to do what it’s supposed to!

Before working in education, Karen worked for an internet start up in Henley-On-Thames where the company launched the World’s first fully online conference (Environment ’97), with academic papers and keynote interviews with high profile ‘speakers’ such as Al Gore.

Prior to that she worked in central London as a Webmaster for a large non-profit organisation. All in all, she has been working in the Technology/IT/Education Sector for over 30 years.

Lizzie and Tyler, Club Assistants

Lizzie has just completed her A-Levels and is helping out while she decides on what to do next. Tyler is an ex-Ninja and has many skills including coding in LUA (Roblox Studio).

The club is Ofsted Registered and we are all fully DBS checked.
